Dropped kids at inlaws, got out around 1:30 pm. Put in @ North launch ( very close to home ). Went dowmn on West side, worming away anywhere from 1 to 3 ft. off bottom in 15 - 25 fow. Hooked a bunch of little gills, kept moving. Put a Gulp Alive minnow on the 2 ft. up hook, nailed a 3 lb., 5 oz. Smallie. Biggest on the new boat so far. A bit further South, birthday girl hooks a 2 lb., 11 oz. Largemouth. Only had a 2 hour window for the trip, so called it quits and headed home. All that mattered is wife had a good time ( and I caught the bigger fish! Ha ha ha - glad she doesnt read LOU!!!)

That's pretty good during the afternoon hours on Hemmy. I slows after 8am in there like deeeaad slow during summer.

If you like catching the smallies and the casting slows for you... the larger smallies move out deep and suspend at around 30-40down in that 50-60fow north end. you have a pm ;)
