North end, at the mouth. Public parking at the boat launch, panfish and bass around the seasonal bridge and off the shore just south of it.

South end, not much. You can fish from the public launch at Orchard Park Blvd/Bay Front S (southwest side) or the new little access site on Empire Blvd at the creek mouth. You can also take him about quarter mile east on Empire, park and feed the ducks.

Thanks for the info,i'll grab some nightcrawlers and give it a shot when I take him home.I looked at the map with the highlighted areas,is that a private launch that you show?I have a small 16 footer with a 25hp that I can bring up in the future, but want to start on shore with him first

No problem - I live close to there. Bayside Tackle is on that stretch of Empire if you need anything.

[night crawlers] Suggest with a bobber or a drop shot rig. Lots of Gobys. From my recent experience (elsewhere) Blue gills are suspended right now anyways.

not 100% but I think you can put a 16 footer in either launch.

yup you can put in on the north our south end with a 16 ft boat. Have done so many times to avoid the North launch traffic jam.
