I just wanted to thank everyone for your support at my first salmon school. It was a good turn out and I hope all of you like it and learned from it. I will be having another one in April or May. I do want to say for all who attended please check your records to see if I missed quoted the fly leader length. It should by 22 inches from nose to loop. I might of quoted 23. If so please change it in your papers.thanks Captain Rick

GREAT SEMINAR! i caught that as well. ive asked around, captains and different random fishermen, and came up with 22" consistantly on leader length. pretty standard measurement. im considering making a jig for this measurement, to make tying awhole lot easier.

Fold your leader at 22.5 inches and tie an overhand loop of about 2 inches in diameter. This should leave you with a 22 inch leader from nose to end of loop. If you don't have a measuring stick on your boat, just put some marks on yer gunn'l at 22.5 inches apart.
