My NY trip and Fishing

unreal unreal unreal...

weve gone 4 yrs in a row now and been to NY before that but every year it just gets better...

we went on a 4 day trip with Tracker Charters w/ capt. Dave Siegfried and first mate Josh Grolling.....awesome fun guys

day one the started us in 80ft of water running 90% green and silver spoons and flies mostly mountain dew and green glow..

killed the biggins on the first day with a couple 25# plus and good steelhead catch

we also brought our boat and went a couple more days on ours....day three i got a 28# king

our last day was the best ...monday morning before we went on our boat at 5 am to go just me and my dad...

we got immediate hits....first was a steelie that i lost ....second was a medium 20# king i caught....lost a big one on the dipsy w/ fly.

about an hour in we were still low on gas so we were just about to call it when the downrigger went off.....i fought the fish for 25 mins and everything that could go wrong did.....the fish went into the star dipsy ...dad ran back tried to reel it in but the boat started turning....he ran up changed directions and the fish got into the port dipsy....lol...he reeled it in....the hook got stuck on swim deck....he cut the leader....he ran to the other dipsy rod and reeled it in ....then the i felt tons of slack in the line and yelled S#%@!!!!!! i lost it!!!! Dad said NO NO NO god sorry thats my fault!!!.....i kept reeling and it got tight again...he was running at us hard......he came in close, dad grabbed the net ....the boat stalls AGAIN!! he runs up starts it and runs back....he grabs the net and its stuck on the rods in the rocket launcher.......the fish was right behind the boat and ready but no net....so he finally after 1 min gets the net....my dad tried twice to net and missed it....it swims to the side and says hes going to the back....i yelled just get him now!!! he finally got him!!! and go from cussing a storm up to cheering and laughing....

if we entered the derby we would have caught 2 pee pee fish and ran out of gas on the lake....thats how it is....lol

also there was a 34# on the board i believe
