Got out on the lake for a couple hours last evening and the action was decent in the southern half of the lake. Started along the painted rocks and back over by the Salt Point. Right around sunset lots of fish came up near the thermo cline and I was busy with lots of short salmon with a few skinny legal fish in the mix, several 2-3 lb bows and one 6.5 lb laker that wouldn't burp and went into the cooler. Lost what felt like a nice salmon on the lead core.

Out at 5:30am this morning started by the Salt Point headed north and got a few short salmon. Picked up and headed north to Glenora and picked up a couple skinny salmon, and one big laker about 8 lbs that faired better than the one from the night before and swam back into the depths. Missed a couple decent fish off the rigger and core.

Fished one DR at 55-65ft with vert blades and a slider, 10 color lead core and dipsey back 175-225ft. All rods took fish with a variety of spoons. Weeds and fleas were a non-issue which was great. Going to get out a couple more times the next few days I hope.

Hi Brook Trout,

Looks like you have figured out Seneca Lake pretty good...glad to hear the fleas have backed off. I was about to get my golf clubs out of storage.

Went out in the Kayak this morning and trolled with the lead core on the east side, first time trolling from the yak, very surprised at how much drag it created. It was nice to be able to dodge through the weed mats. No fish, but very fun way to travel, might have to throw a fish finder on there and get more serious about it down the line.

Went out this evening looking for the evening bite, but never found it. Had trouble finding much bait in the same places it was thick the other day. Caught 2 dink salmon and one 17". Pretty slow, but nice evening to be out. Trolled up the west side and down in the south end. The temp break was between 40-50ft.
