39lb 7oz King

Friend of a friend took a 39 lb 7oz king off Alcan today on a charter. No real details except the wieght which was taken on certified scales. The boat was not in the LOC. The fish are certainly brawny this year. I've already broken-off one in this class. We should see some 40's this year.

Read big fish at the oak on south shore fishing reports, he caught a 39.7 oz king that turned out to be 36 and caught at the oak, is that the fish u are talking about?

No doubt there should be talk of 40lb fish in this Lake! It has them! Two that I know of last Summer, and I know they are out there right now. That's definitely something to be excited about. Compare last summer's weights to this summer and on average they are about 2 pounds heavier. This summer LOC almost looks like last years fall LOC leaderboard.

It's gonna be a good Fall boys as long as mother nature cooperates!

The GOSD derby winner was over 40lbs last year with another at 39 and change. They are definitley out there.
