Hi everyone!

I have Walkers Tournament Series downrigger with 10 lb pancake ball.

Last time we were trolling my cable was at 55-60 degree angle when speeds were between 2.7 & 3.3 miles/hour. It does not matter which direction we were going.

I was thinking to buy havier ball. I started reading internet and I got different opinions.

Somebody tells that 10 lb is the maximum motor can lift up.

Other tells it can be up to 16 lbs, even it is certified to work with 18 lb.

So I'm completely lost. Who can tell for sure.

What is the maximum cannon ball weight I can use with this downrigger?

I will buy second rigger also. What would you recommend?

It seems salmon is deeper now.

The currents this week have been nasty. I use 12# and have had no issues. Your going to get blowback no matter what but shark weights and torpedo weights eliminate some of it.

I bought some 12 lb torpedoes from Troutman87 on this site. I have walker Kokanee riggers and never had a problem. The tech people at Walker said I could run 14 lbs with no problem. Hope this helps.

Tnaks Rippin'Line!

I meant. Will I reduce significantly cabel's angle if instead of 10 lb pancake I would use 12-13 lb torpedo? Let's talk surface speed is between 2.5 -3.0 miles/hour.

There only problem I see here.

That with cable angle of 55-60 degrees I don't see streakers around my lure on FF.

For full picture. I run 2 rods from one rigger.

I used 12 lb torpedo weights on mine without a problem on a 3 foot boom. I didn't like them on a 4 foot boom.
