Apparently not...

I fished there 2 Saturdays ago, with almost no luck. We had 1 head shaker 40 down over 80. Pretty sure it was a brown. It never took any line, did some head shaking and got off. Blue 00 flasher with aqua hammer fly. We could see the thermocline on the FF down 50 at that depth. Marked a ton of fish and bait from 40 to 60 down over 70 to 90 fow. We worked out to 200 with almost no marks, except for some fish hugging the very bottom.

Very fustrating. We were out 5+ hours and only saw 3 other boats between salmon river and nine mile. Of course it was also the day of the Oswego Pro-Am.

Should've spent more time in the 70 - 90 depths. Strategic error by the captain. :@

fished all around the bay yesterday in a tournament w/ some buddies.

only marked a few salmon. had 3 on landed 1. 100-150 fow

went in for brown trout to fill the box. 40-60 fow

VERY tough fishing but we managed to eek out 5.

they are there but fairly scattered. when we found a small pod there were bites.

heard there might be early stagers coming in, but the winning fish came from the west.

big mature salmon from fairhaven to oswego won the tourney.

good luck

It's not great, but they are coming back. I fished Mexico Bay in the Little Salmon River Challenge yesterday and we were 5 for 8 on salmon in the bay. A lot did worse in the bay, a few better, so there are salmon to be caught and it will likely improve by the day.

It's crazy how some of the kings are getting so dark, and it's still July!

The Brown trout fishing has been very consistant for us. The trout have been holding in the 58-62 deg. water. We boxed 12 on Friday. Saturday was tougher, but after the boat traffic left they started accepting our offerings. Gators , Dolpins & Purple has been our go-to patterns. We had some salmon activity on saturday in 100ft. but was short lived! Capt.Randy

Fished Friday and Saturday. Managed one king each day and a few browns. Friend managed three kings and six browns Saturday fishing slightly different waters.
