Hey Matt,

It could happen!! I'm throwing around the idea of a second shootout type tournament out of Sandy, but with somewhat different rules.

Still four fish, but the four fish would need to be four species: a salmon, brown, laker and a steelhead. Mix things up a bit.

Obviously it's just an idea as of yet, but if there's enough interest then I may take the little I've learned the past three years watching Scott, Keith, Rob and Mike run this tournament and apply it. I'll put out feelers this winter.

Gator,

Guys in Rochester have been talking about is since April....

A species tourney would be interesting. Capitalizing on all the boats in town for the shootout may be the way to go....Say Friday on pre fishing day, a little species specific tournament. One brown, Steelie, Laker ( thats all you Gamble), King...Bonus for a Atlantic.....

Congradulations Jason & Tricia AGAIN & Again & again.............

That was an extremely WELL run & VERY FUN Tournament. It's the 1st. tourney I have ever fished with a regular charter aboard. After talking to Yankee Troller Craig- Their charter was Crazy Happy fishing with them in an event and booked next year that day.

Rob-Scott- Keith-Mike Engle and TONS of support family/friends did a great Job. & a 40 ++ teams turn out was Unbelievable.

Great to see L.O.U. guy,s & family in person (FX-Skipper 19/wife-Tcon/Tom-Ray K/Casey & others).

Next year has GREATER POTENTIAL with more sponsors I see coming & boat/trailer storage available near Hamlin Beach Etc.

THANKS AGAIN.

Thanks to all the sponsors and to the commitee for a fine tournament layout. Great to meet friends old and new, and a special thanks to Captain Jerry Felluca for helping me get a spot to park the truck and boat at his barn, and for the chauffeur ride to our camper at Hamlin Beach. A very well run event and great class of patrons in all I came to meet. Absolutley fun weekend.

One question...does anyone have the winners and weight of the Sunday big fish?...we were in it but the time ran out on the the only fish we had that could have been a contender.

Thanks to all, Mark ..Team Stand & Deliver

Wow, Mike, that's a heck of a picture!!

Based on our experience on big fish Sunday, here's some advise on ice: have it on board. We weighed that fish fresh and it was 30.86 on the digital scale. However, neither Capt. Skippy nor myself were bright enough to grab ice for the cooler (you'd think we'd have learned from Saturday, right?). A couple hours later, Keith wants to get a picture of the fish...it was caught admist a Chinese fire-drill...so we weigh it again. This time it's 29.5, and there's a bunch of blood and water in the (previously dry) cooler. And it ends up 28, 14 on Tom's scale.

We found out Saturday that our scale is dead nuts. So, that fish lost a pound and a half sitting in a dry cooler for six hours. Luckily, we didn't learn this the hard way and she held up, but next time there will be lots of ice.

As an aside, we considered putting her in the live well filled with water...anybody know if that helps or hurts weight loss?

Once again, kudos to the organizers of this quality event!

iD SAY WACK EM AND STACK EM ,the longer their alive they can poop, puke up a recent meal, and if ya did tear a gill their heart pumpin the blood cant be too good either ..

Posted

Yup, if your tourny fishing you HAVE to whack em on the head before any bleeding occures. That is the FIRST thing you should do and then take the hook out.

I'm reliving scenes from Scarface right now...

Thanks for the link Brian!...too late to run in and too light at 20lb. Fun with the kids though over the afternoon.
