i never had a lot of luck with lead core. whats your favorite rig on it?

also, do you think 150ft of mono after the lead line is too much? (I normally use ~50ft but was going to try something different.)

I run 70-80 foot leads. How many colors?

I run 10 color knot in the water I start with 50 ft of flouro so if you need to chop a few feet your not left with a real short leader. My favorite is moonshine carbon 14 early and late in the day, always good for big fish.

you'll do better with about a 20-30 foot leader after the core. Running long leaders completely mutes and negates the erratic rise and fall action of the core (and copper) as it snakes through the water that makes those presentations so effective.

do you run that spoon clean, or with a SD or flasher?

(i might have a little less than 10 colors on it now...lost some with a bad tangle last time.)

I run spoons clean by themselves. I have put in plenty of time with SD/Fly's. They have taken their fair share of fish but mostly steelies the lead with the carbon 14 is deadly on kinds (ealy and late). I added a 450 copper to my setup last year (probably closer to 425 I tangled it) so I run the leadcore early and late for the first 2 hours of daylight then switch to copper. I'll probably bring big boards with me this year and run both since I seem to always do good on junk lines. I have a smaller boat so only have 2 riggers more lines is good!
