SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

Thursday eve got out around 5:30pm. Even though the off shore bite has been hot, we decided to work the inside waters. We set up in 100' out of the creek and worked NW. Fishing has been decent in the 120-140 range recently. I had an ex salmon fisherman on the boat along with his son( bass fisherman :no: ) and his father in law. Around 6:30 the action started with a nice 22 lber coming off the down rigger 100' down it took a purple dalmatian. We followed up with a nice double on the wires. Meat rig 320 out and a caramel dolphin spinny/fly out 340. The 2 fathers fighting the fish side by side! We ended the night with a 26lber coming off the meat again. We had 4 kings over 20 and a couple of nice steelhead.

Friday eve the bite was tough. We got a late start due to some vehicle troubles ;( Set up in 100 again on the same NW troll. We washed lures for a while, picking up a couple of steelies and dropping a couple more. Around 7:15 on the meat again out 375, we picked up a 22 lb king. It took us out over 6oo'. A great fight. We ended the night with a screamer off the down rigger. It hit a yellow banana Yeck cheated 10 ft over a NK mag. Rigger was down 86 ft. The rod fires then went limp. I yelled "REEL REEL REEL" as soon as the line got tight, " game on" the fish ripped out line. After a good 20 minute fight, the fish was at the back of the boat straight down causing havoc. Finally in the net, we boated the fat 25 lber.

Both nights we had good quality fish even thought we did not have a ton of bites Meat rigs are still producing the big guys. Be safe this weekend on the water.
