free sliders line weight

I usually run 20lb fluro leader for my free slide cheaters this time of the year. Is that to much for trout??? should I go lighter?? I catch small steel and browns but nothing big. Just curious what you guys use for leader. Thanks!! Its kinda funny, My 8 year old son is afraid to reel in big salmon but loves to reel in trout. So I need to up my trout numbers for him while trolling for salmon to keep the adults happy. its tough to keep everyone happy....LOL!!

I use 12lb flourocarbon during trout season and 15 lb during king season.

30 lb......slows the descent, untangles easier, and won't break your heart when a king or jumping steelhead is on.
