SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

Dad and I finally got the boat out for the first time since the LOTSA Club Tournament on July 14. First stop was the gas dock and then we got out on the water around 0700. Absolutely nobody was working inside so we ran out a bit and set down at the 22.5 N line and set lines on a NW troll.

For the 1st 45 minutes to an hour, we couldn't get 4 lines in the water. Great picture between the 22.5 and 23.5 lines and the kings were active early, but shut down for us by 10:00. After that is was a very slow pick until just after noon and we finished the day with a double as we were pulling rods.

Nothing big, mostly teenagers though we did get 2 mature fish that were both in the 18-20 lb range (probably mature 2 year fish). Ended up 11/11 with 8 kings, 2 steelhead and a small brown that took a flasher and fly on the 300' wire diver over 320 fow (must have been lost).

70-100 down was the active zone and all fish came on flasher/flies except one of the steelhead took an MC Rocket (fake meat) behind a big white lightning paddle on the 100 ft rigger. Spin Doctors, Pro Trolls and Opti Inticers all took shots and any color worked as long as it was green or had some green in it. All bites came on riggers and wire divers, 200 and 300' coppers were quiet except for 1 short hit and run on the 300 (we were probably to high above the fish with those coppers, should have put the 400 out).

It was great to finally get out and catch a few after a month off. Back at it next weekend.
