Spiny Fleas

Are spiny fleas a problem at this time of year using braided or lighter mono lines? Heading up this weekend to Oswego area.

They most certainly are. Lots of warm water at the east end and plenty of fleas along with it. 30# test and 30# wire no problem. Braid most certainly will load up. Riggers can be raised and cleared of fleas if using lighter line.

I spoke with a friend that fished Oswego this past weekend and he said they were terrible!

I fished in front of the dunes (salmon river) and we had no problems with fleas on our lines. Yes there were some but no way a problem with any of our lines.
