marine radio voice scramble

does anyone know anything about marine radio scrambling or codes typically used on lake o. any advise on icom purchase compatible with those used by local pro's?

The radio is becoming replaced by the cell phone when specific info is being given out by the "pros" to each other.

[GAMBLER]

The Genesee River fleet used to use it. I'm not sure if they still do.
