Been busy here at the shop this morning! All i heard was, "I need sawbellies"! Everyone is say lakers have been hitting them hard! Some are on the south end in Hammondsport and others are on the west side of the bluff.

I hope this helps anyone!

Do you have any tips on keeping sawbellies alive?

The last time I bought some I put two fishtank bubblers in the bucket, changed the water three times over the course of a night, and kept it in the basement to stay cooler, and even added a chunk of ice at one point. They still all died by morning in less than 12 hours. Thanks.

my friends used to use "minnow crack", but I can't remember where to get it or what it really was called, other than that, a very large cooler so they can swim around, and ice cold water with lots of bubbles, perhaps even some salinity

IF YOU USE ICE ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,MAKE SURE ITS UNCLORINATED. CLORINE WILL KILL ANY BAIT FISH

IF YOU DO USE IT PUT ICE IN A ZIP LOCK BAG, THEN ADD IT TO THE FISH! BUBBA

I use to murder my bait at home in Elmira, but not at the cottage. I would almost always add ice to the water i got from the river.

the difference was the ice, the cottage water came from Keuka lake, and was just filtered.
