Well the fishing season came to a little earlier close than expected for me this year. So with the HEAVEY rains coming I decided to set all the deer cams & trim the trails before the washing rains came. The activity in the woods already is incredible. Bachelor buck groups & does w/little guys.

Every year i set some cams facing the trail/entry way I came in on. It is amazing to see ALL the deer smell it out & react accordingly. Advice would be to (if possible) check/set deer cams and scout walks before or during the rain. It will help minimize the LEARNING EFFECT these deer react to. (Bucks fall for this 1 or 2 times then CHANGE habits for good)

Just a thought as I watch the down pour outside now.

I always try to hand stands in the rain or right before. A fine light rain is perfect just need to be a confident climber and use a harness man!!!

put in a foodplot with nice buck on camera and a bunch of honeybees moved into one of my climbing branches , so i decided not to hang my stand today,,,hmm maybe if i take my shirt off they will think a blackbear found them and move on....
