6 inch flies?

Whats all this talk about the 6 inch flies? Do they work? Where can you get them?

IMHO.......You'll be just fine with the regular ones! We ran them throughout the season. We've only taken 1 fish on them. It happened to be a 31lb fish, but not worth the investment IMHO.

some people have said they have has success with them but I have given them the good college try this year with low success

Also agree with Yankee...ran one all last week without a knock off...took many kings on normal size flies.

I will add more... my hot fly last 2 years was this little crappy hammer fly that had about 8 strands total left... this past weekend it was firing like crazy and we ended up losing our beloved fly in the prop when a fish dove right under the boat

I sent another hammer down and it went hitless for 2 hours... I finally pulled it in and ripped a TON of skirt off and made it ugly as sin like the other one was and took the treble off and ran 2 single hooks like the old one was

rod fired again in 5 mins and went on firing all day

sometimes they like the beat up small ugly ones
