Looking for a little info on fishing for steelhead this time of year. Fishing out of Oswego. Any pointers on were to start, water depth, temp, downspeep, lure selection ? I know things change daily just looking for general guidlines. We do good on Kings and Browns but Steelies seem to evade us.. Thanks in advance for any info..

I would say go offshore for a consistant Steelie bite. Not sure about Oswego but here in the Western end start about 400 fow and head north. Fish top 50 fow or so with spoons. You should find a few plus immature Kings. Good luck.

This time of year offshore for sure........but this year is different. Can't put my finger on it but there is something amiss with the offshore steelhead fishery this year. Usually, you can run out past 400' FOW find a debris line and be almost guaranteed a nice box of fish. This year the Steelhead are scattered all over the place and skinny. I am on the West end of the lake so it might be different on the East end?
