Just curious where is brown trout at this point as salmon is around rivers waiting for a good rain? Any tips to catch it at this time?

Fish them like you would in the summer with small spoons along the bottom in the zone where the thermalcline intersects the bottom. They will be there until the lake cools down. Once that happens you fish them like you would in the spring with plainerboards and sticks / spoons.
