Well, about three months i bought my first powerboat(sailor guy here) and im hooked on trolling!

Is that too much for spoons? Do guys own more?

I also have about 10 flies that i never used.

that is only the start for a collection!

having in the thousands is not uncommon by any means!

You just never know what color/size/shape/weight is going to work. so having a good variety is not a bad thing at all!

WOW dude i feel sorry for ya ! or maybe me? their are about 8 basic colors and thats all ya need red, orange, violet, green ,blue, yellow, silver, and gold,,, Thats it!!!!!! I think if you do it mathamaticaly 8x8=n nxn=z zxz=y shouild be somewhere in the 2000,0000 range and thats all ya need......see it simple..

I believe alot of guys got a chuckle at that question  No fault of yours.. as you will find out that if your truly hooked, you will have collected hundreds, if not thousands of items. You may consider a part time job to support the habit

Yes, you're absolutely nuts. That's not nearly enough. You'd need many, many hundreds more than that to even get in my area code. :)

lets put it this way

I sold over 300 of my spoons this year

I dumped 250 last year and I still have too many.

Wait until you become overstocked on trolling rods and reels. Then you'll really be wondering about you sanity.

well ya got one set for one spead what if none of them work , back up plan ? secound spead options ? never ran ur flys , ur still learning LMAO glad ur hooked and years from now you will look back on this post and be like OMG. what was i thinking.

I don't know what you're talking about Chris, I only carry 20 rods on the boat :$

Only 20? Slacker!

Those are just the standard package. They are supplemented as needed from the basement/warehouse.

That's definitely not a lot. It's a very good start.

You will end up with lots, but no which half dozen to a dozen

are your key patterns.

You need to start using those flies. Most of the salmon I took

this year came on flies.

LoL, you suckers making fun of me??? I stated that I am new to this! Its only been few months!!!

Btw, I purchased 6 more today:)

Cheers.

Have a question, how do you keep so many on your boats? My boat is only 17 feet long. ( crest liner Kodiak 167)

Once you get more spoons, you will not own that boat. You will need more room in the boat to store tackle not for more fishing room and better in rough water!

Do yourself a favor... identify the largest boat you can possibly afford, in terms of money and dock space... then get one 5 feet bigger  with extra attention paid to the beam!! you will be there some day anyway so instead of rigging four boats to get where you need to be like I did. Then you can worry about filling it with STUFF!!!!!!! ;)

Are we counting equipment that our wives know about or not? My wife thinks Pete a.k.a On The Lam and the rest of red dock are the most generous guys around due to all the stuff they "give" me.

I have a storage unit/tackle room that i rent ten minutes from the boat cause it all wont fit...I may have a problem...
