Not a ice fisherman but intend to take the skiff out on Seneca for LT & Perch this winter. At my age I get cold quickly so I'm thinking of buying something that is warm & protects yet breathes so that I don't roast.

Ice suits are intended for sitting on ice so not sure thats the direction to go. Float suits are way heavy and don't breathe.

Any good ideas?

Thanks

I have an Arctic Shield suit. Jacket/Bibs. It is very affordable and is the warmest suit I have ever owned. Picked mine up at Bass Pro in Auburn. Not my favorite store to say the least, but in this case it was a great deal. I use it for Ice fishing and in the boat during the winter. Cuts the wind very well, and I don't even think about wearing it while I am walking out on the ice. You would be sweating within 100 yds.

We wear our ice fishing bibs in the very cold early spring, and layer on top.

Add or take layers off as needed.
