Owasco Jigging Report

Jigged the north end both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday ended up 7 for maybe 20? Tons of hits tons of bait but the bite slowed way down around 1. Landed some beautiful and very healthy fish most in the 5-7lb class. The screen was loaded no matter where we fished. Sunday was a much different story, same huge bait balls but fewer nice big fish marks around the bait. Landed 3 out of about 6. Interestingly 2 of the trout landed today had been caught and it was nice to see 1. That fisherman are practicing catch and release 2. The released fish are benefiting from being released and not just falling to the bottom! Overall, jigging is tough. I have a new found appreciation for those who can consistently catch fish jigging, and the fish themselves for being much more lively on the lighting tackle.
