Painting Flasher Blanks

I thought I'd give it a try but not sure exactly how to go about it the right way. Do I need an airbrush, or a regular paint brush, type of paint ?? Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated

Hardware store spray paint always worked for me.

Automotive paint. Spray light coats. Do it now as fish don't like stinky new paint smell.

this is what i'm attempting to reproduce.... i have the fish scale and ladder back, not sure if auto paint comes in chartreuse, maybe it does

krylon or rustolum makes a paint for use on plastic if thats what you are painting. jm $.02

I use nail polish from a cheap air brush. Works Great!
