Removing a Synchronizer

Hey Guys,

My 88 Penn Yan has one and it limits the throw on the Port engines throttle at the helm. More or less its not doing anything and I would like to remove it but I am curious about the re attaching of everything. Has anyone ever removed one from a boat? How hard is it to reconnect the throttle cable? What else is involved?

Are you sure it the engine Synch thats limiting the throw? Sounds like and adjustment at the stick to me. I would be interested in that synch guage as I have one missing on mine if you decide to sell it.
