Got out for an afternoon trip with Patty. Plan was to troll to Vine Valley and then try for some perch.

We stuck to the plan and got skunked on the way up. Did a dozen or so perch in 10-12 fow. There were

plenty there as y9u could see them around the minnow tipped jigs but not very hungry I guess. Trolled half way back to the Woodville launch and picked up a nice rainbow on a ten color towing a mountain dew spin doctor tailed by a

gator fly. Nice day on the water. As a heads up the launch is pretty short.... thank to the two gentleman that helped

me get the boat off the trailer and into the water!

Very nice fish Bruce. We found the same thing with the perch......and couldn't find the big ones at all. I'm surprised that you could even launch at Woodville at all as it has been so shallow there....even the launch at the north end has had its problems 1 1/2 to 2 ft spots in the channel and an obstruction ofsome sort at the south east end of the launch ramp. Maybe all the predicted rain coming will make a difference....
