I have two in floor fish boxes that have the soft spongie feel when walked on,

the hatch is not cracked yet so I'd like to take care of this soon,

How do I fix these or is this a job for the marina.

That repair is more labor than know-how. You will have to peel underside layer of glass off, and remove soaked wood. The water always enters through the inset hardware.

The Gougeon bros, which are the founders of West systems have manuals for do-it-yourselfers on such repairs. They may even offer phone assistance to support the sales of their materials. Check them out online.

If it were mine, ( I have a floor fish box also, not yet soft) I would flip it over, take my circular saw w/ a masonry blade set to depth( same one I use to cut fiberglass porch columns), cut out the perimeter on underside, take out bad, r ,replace w/new, refiberglass, paint, go fishin.
