Cannon STX rod holder

After replacing my Cannon Mag 10HS riggers with Cannon STX downriggers my "short" crew members(wife and son) complained about the increased height of the rod holder. It is about 6 inches higher. And I have to admit it does make getting the rod out a bit more difficult. The solution I found was using 2 dual action arms before the rod tube. This lowers the tube about 4 inches. It does limit me to only one rod holder on the left side of the rigger which is not a problem. I guess I'll find out this spring if using 2 dual arms will handle the stress of the rod pulling on the holder tube. If anyone else has a better solution I would be interested to hear it.
