Merc lower unit needed

Looking for an out drive lower unit for 1986 Thompson 5.0 v-8. Just noticed my out drive leaking oil out of the prop shaft housing from a large crack. I am not sure if this is an alpha or bravo.

That would be a 230MR. For all intents and purposes, MR and Alpha are the same, I believe they renamed the drive Alpha 1 mid season in 86.

I have the same Engine/Outdrive on my 1986 Thompson

Replaced and alpha I on my old boat. Worked fine for the 4 or 5 years I had it. It was a little loud until it was broken in.

Poverty, Frog hollow in watkins might have a used one, and I saw on our local CL add's that there were one or two merc units available.. Do you know the ratio you need? I know of a guy who has a lower unit as he replaced his and saved the on with a missing skeg.. May get you by?
