Gator goes through ice

A former student of mine and four friends of his put a John Deere gator through the ice on LOTI today. Fortunately they are all ok. The warm temperatures and high winds have obviously done a number on the ice so be very careful!

No plans of going out(on Oneida)until we have a good long cold spell.

I've ice-fished that lake since the late '70's and have been in the water.

I'll just stay down in the cellar and putter around with fishing gear.

But the salesman said the tires will float the machine.

The divers were able to get it out yesterday.

I hope they total the machine. My son had his ATV go through and he went through hell for a year before it ran right again. Simple things like cables rusted up over time.
