Most of the Pike fishing in Ontario,Canada that is a close drive are not big pike fisheries,or not any numbers of bigger pike that is.Most of the bigger northern pike fishing is in the Near North in rivers that run toward James Bay.Little Atbi Lake & Atbi river was where I use to go many years ago in early June. Some of the areas lakes still had ice on them in early June, but just about every creek that ran under a paper mill road had big pike.I have also caught bigger pike over 45 inches out the North Arm of the Moon River Area of Georgian Bay,the upper reaches of the Ottawa River above South Nations river and Trent river by Bellville,Ontartio. But the float trip from Little Atibi Lake down the Atibi river to the Moose river to Moosenee,Ontario we caught 45 to 48 inchers, but that was 10 years ago!
