Aluminum Hull Transducer Mounting

I have to move my transducer. What do you guys use to plug up the old holes in an aluminum transom? In the past I've put silicon in the hole with a screw. What type of silicon should I use or is there something else I should be using.

Always used 3M 4200 or 5200 sealant. If you may want to remove them later use the 4200, the 5200 cures hard & the 4200 remains a little soft.

I've plugged mine with a screw & 5200 about 6 years ago.  Not leaking yet.

You may want to install a plastic cutting board type of mount even in fibreglass boats because you can use large bolts above the waterline to secure it. A sealer product between the hull will also stop the flow of water between the hull and board. Screws into the board will protect the integrity of your hull.
