Fished from 9- 12:15 with friend Brian G.. Water was pretty much 35- 36 east of the bay. We did not get to Shipbuilders and decided to try west of the outlet as we had not had a nibble. Brian hooked first brown just east of Durand in about 4 FOW. Trolled a bit further west and made the turn back east and hooked into a better fish again in about 3 FOW. Lost that one as I got a bit greedy on the retrieve. Never ventured past 8 FOW and perhaps should have. Both fish took black/gold rapalas. Pulled and went out to se what it was we had seen floating off the river. Turned out to be two barges that as best we could tell by sight and smell they were dumping some nasty sh.t dredged up from somewhere. Thought about calling DEC to be sure it was legal because it smelled so bad!!

Nice to get on the water and despite slow fishing, no skunk.

I went out on Monday and fished from the bay to hedges.   You had a better day then we had.  Never moved a rod and switched up several times.  At least it was a nice day on the water.
