Tlr hi cdq's dad started fishin big O in 14 footer in 1980 moved up to 16 now 22 penn yan if u got the vehicle to tow go glass and go 20 makes big difference. Lady O can make u feel pretty small. Loved my 16 sylvan fished big. Nothin like the wt. u get with glass and the way it cuts waves. Freeboard is important. Plus semi v displacement hull for stability . Do some hull research and beam (width) always good friend. Try sticking with closed bow if possible. Cuddys Evan small great for gear stayin dryer warmer/ safer. Hope I helped good luck!

Operational costs are not being addressed. Towing an 18 foot boat needs a smaller vehicle which allows for more travelling and fuel costs for the vehicle and boat are lessened considerably. Dream boats are nice, but affordability to operate them have become a big problem today.

Dont you know boat stands for bust out another thousand.
