Port Bay channel is open!

I drove to the channel at the north end today, and was surprised to see the stone bar that was blocking the channel is gone!  It must have be dug out in the last two days.

 

There is no ice anywhere to be seen at the north end.

 

Two guys were just coming into the north launch as I was going by, and mentioned that the perch are getting a little more active.

Also, I drove to the boat launch in Fair Haven State Park, and both launch ramps are open.  The work isn't finished yet, but they should be open for the weekend.
