Non-Resident Canadian License

O.K. so I'm trying to figure out the differences between sportsmans and conservation licenses and limits for fishing lake ontario.  I can't seem to find a specific zone for Lake Ontario.  What I did read showed that salmon and trout seasons in zone 16 - 17 start on the 4th Saturday in April?  Does that sound right for Lake O?

 

If so, what do you guys do for the Big Fish Friday in the KOTL since it's the day before the season opens?  Or am I not looking in the right place or zone?

 

Also, is the outdoors card a yearly thing or do they cover a few seasons?  I've been thinking about fishing in Canada the past couple of years and just want to be sure I'm not breaking any laws.

Outdoors card is good for 3 years. Sportsman license gives full limit, conservation 1/2 limit. Not sure on the zone number question. Don't forget the phone-in customs requirement to fish Canadian water.
