Were going next week would like to know ourselves. This will be our 3rd year renting a camp on Sandy. Last year was real shallow the 2nd week of May but we could get out the shoot in our 16 and 17ft Lund boats. Hopefully it won't be any lower. We were scrapeing sand and had to raise the motors way up.

This is from the Sandy Pond Channel Maintenance Facebook page.

Just an update on the Channel.. As of 4/4 From the North side the channel (or deeper water) is in the middle of the sand bar. Between the Island and the North spit. There is a minimum of 3' of water to 5' of water. The deeper water is easier to see if you have polarized sunglasses. The middle channel is still very deep. We were able to get out into the lake with 3-4' in the spot where the rock pile is to your right. If you have a smaller boat the South side has 2' for a short distance and then is 3-4' this is very close to the South spit. The north side very close to shore has 2' also, but there is a big log that you can see. NYS Parks and Recreation will not mark a channel that is not 4' deep.
