Fished for 3 hours out front, tried 80-100 in stained water temps 43-44 down 60 one degree difference from surface.  not many marks fished mid level for kings and down low for lakers - Nothin.  Spent an hour fishing 2 planner rods and a rigger.  long leads the key.  3 browns 10, 8 and alittle guy in 8' all on grey and black thunderstick. 2.5 on sub troll.  nice day low winds.  I would say one more week and we will start to see kings.

How close do you typically fish for browns. I usually fish Erie, but I was planning to get out of Olcott for a few trips before I dump the boat in Dunkirk. Did very well out of Olcott last year in a few trips on Coho's and Kings. Even a few lakers.

Not a big fan of fishing in close, right now from 8 to 20 ft.  browns will always be were temp change intersects with bottom during summer months.
