my new(1984) 120hp seems to flood easy specialy in this cold weather my old 140hp was cold blodded but never seemed to flood out the 120 hp will flood after 3or more pumps of the throttle but seems to be it runs ifi man the throttle till warm more of ainconviencew than problem .....is this normal for the older 120 hp ....thanks still fishing Ray K.

Ray: Trying to decipher your post's is fun, but re-adjust the choke for the colder weather. Give me a call and I'll walk ya thu it.

I assume it is a thermally controlled choke??

If it had an electric choke it would be a touch quicker to respond, but a thermally controlled choke needs to get heat in the manifold and to the carb. before it will open fully and lean out.

I'd just deal with it in the winter since it will operate just fine when it warms up.

its electric ,never thought about moving the position ill try it this morning .the only way to know for shureis on the water so ill go fishing too ,hate it when that happens........
