I've had three different boats....all with cannon swivels under the cannon d-riggers

worth every penny when things get tense OTW

I've had a very negative experience with swivel pedestal mounts (the pedestal mounts come in both 4" and 6" heights - in both the fixed and swivel variety). Within the 1st ten uses (last year) they had a quarter inch play in them (under my STX MAG 10s with the 5.5ft boom). A quarter inch at the plate means a lot of movement 5.5ft out! I took them back and got a full refund but I still had to buy the fixed mount and a separate swivel base (which I have under my MAG 5s with no problem). This was an extra $40 per rigger. Long story short: swivels (referred to as "low profile") are ok, but don't get the swivel pedestal mounts (especially if you are running extendable booms off of them with a higher speed retrieval rigger). Hope his helps.
