What would you think something like this would be worth? I have an option of buying one for $400 that includes a 3 gallon tank and a new 6 gallon tank and feed line. It looks to be in nice shape

Correction it is a 1986. I just ran the serial numbers off of it. So it is a 1986 Merc 9.9. runs well, super clean under the hood, has a 3gal plastic tank and a new 6gal plastic tank and feed line with it. asking $400 for it. Thoughts?

Only negative would be it looks to have been used as a trolling motor so it most likely has alot of hours on it but the asking price is a fair one.

Stick to a four stroke, save the extra money, buy a manual start Nissan if budget is an issue, I found a used 98 Honda 9.9 for $700 couple years ago, don't bother with it because if anything major is wrong say 5 trips from now your looking at what you spent on it for repairs and will never get half back if u upgrade. I've had it happen before. 2 strokes are fatal. Fishing a money pit, save where you can lol

I think it may have been around 2001-2003 but not dead sure.
