I'm Alex, long time angler. Past experience mainly on the west coast out of Bamfield, and Campbell River, left the big solid 'glass boat out there about 5 years ago. Loved that boat.

Current boat is a 16ft sports pal sq. stern, 2hp honda! Don't laugh, 2 summers ago I limited out 5 days  in a row out of Barkley Sound on 25lb Springs. All while in the midst of some beauty rigs passing back and forth.

So if you see a long green canoe out there with a little crank downrigger fishing away, that would be me.

Any thoughts on the action from Bronte across to Bluffs?

Thanks and looking forward to sharing the experience!

Haha, good luck to you, but remember, Lake O is not all protected like a sound or a large harbor, and it can get very rough for a 16' canoe.  Just pay attention to the wind and weather advisories and you should be alright.  Welcome aboard! :)
