So I have a 19.5 sea nymph gls and just picked up a 70lb minn kota and usually use 2 batteries on my main, kicker plus lights and FF, and now looking at adding another 2 batteries for a (24v) trolling motor. My question is if four batteries is overkill on a 19ft boat and if I should just buy a starting battery for my main a kicker and just use 3 batts altogether. Just seein if anyone's been there

That's what I have on mine (18 ft). Never have to worry about low juice. Just keep them charged with the onboard charger and get lots of years on them.

Do you have a stater or an alternator on your main motor?  An alternator will also keep your starter battery fully charged while running it out on the lake, but a stater......not so much.  I would keep a spare if your main motor uses a stater, and stick with one battery for an alternator.  Hope that made sense. :)
