It was a beautiful day with beautiful weather. It was great to be with good friends and the fishing was lousy.

We went 3 for five. The first one a laker, the second one, a 12 pound king, came in from about 130 down caught on a lure dragged along by a 12 inch paddle and the third ,a 16 pound king, hit a dipsey with a spin doctor and fly designed by doctor Lou .

The hits we lost were probably from the sliders.

We cruised with a down speed  between 2 and 2.5 first north west in 90 feet but later in large circles between 120 and 200.

Before we launched I passed by Vince's rig and saw him checking what looked like cut bait in a cooler and I asked myself whether there is a new secret weapon in the upcoming tournaments, or whether I witnessed the beginning of a cod fishing trip,targetting lakers instead of cod.

Our trip was cut short by a down pour which thoroughly soaked us.
