I'm sure this has been discussed before, I did a search through the forum and found no topics on it. It is kind of a "redneck" way of doing things, but however I am a farmer. My friend of mine that I fish with has access to an oriental garden in Rochester where their is bamboo that we use for extra long flagging poles for Canadian Geese/Snows. This year we decided instead of running my single mast planar boards off the front of the boat we are going to stuff 15 ft. bamboo poles in the rod holders I used for my masts'. We fixed a single canon release we don't use on the end of it and plan running our slide divers/coppers off of it. It certainly isn't the best looking way to go about it but it is hard to beat something for free . Thought I would post this on here, just and interesting way we decided to maximize our spread (Beam on my boat isn't to awful wide, but it is economical on gas-$30 for a day of trolling) and hopefully see less tangles this year when a biggin' goes sharking across the lines. Maybe someone else that has a tighter budget will benefit from this, give me your thoughts. By the way this idea came from when my fishing partner went for tuna in Jamaica. The local had bamboo outriggers with a 2 liter bottle as a rod/reel trolling for tuna at 15 MPH!
