headed to the lake hamilton bridge for the first time this year in my new boat with my bro and 2 friends!!!

we started at around 10am and set out a 4 rod setup 2 of the dipsy and 2 stacked on 1 rigger. set out at 110 feet varying depth from the bottom and half way around 70 feet with riggers and approc 30 feet down with dipsies pulling spoons, meats, body bait flasher and flies and got NOTHING not a single rod touched.

after a couple hours of nothing we headed into the harbour and grabbed lunch and cruised a bit. at a cafe with WIFI i looked at reports and saw someone was slaying coho at 250FOW 55 feet down so off we went for a 2nd try.

we motored to 250 FOW and set a hammer time SD with a-tom-mik green crinkle fly 60 feet down and a green NK spoon 30 feet stacked on the rigger. a gander mountain orange spoon on the dipsy and a meat on the other dipsy.

trolling about 2.3mph after 15mins the 60 foot rigger fired with the F/F setup and WOW this darn thing peeled 450 feet of line :0 :0 we ended up having to chase this king down otherwise i would have been spooled!! after one hell of a run it got so tired that it floated to the surface. as soon as we got it near the boat it swam around the rigger cable and the fishing line got tangled up with the cable and as soon as the cable cut the fishing line my brother just grabbed it and boated it!!! got are hearts pumpin for sure. no official weigh in of it but she was VERY chunky and fat and all of us felt it was a good 30 pounder! nice first fish of the year!!!

5mins later we hooked into a nice coho on the gander orange spoon approx 30 feet down. fought fairy good and boated it.

10mins later hooked into another coho? king? not sure had a green back and dark grey mouth almost blackish but not quite. this was a short fight as it hit the 30 foot rigger green NK spoon and popped up beside the boat was a quick net job.

all in all we got 3 for 3 and was just a beeeeeeeautiful day!!! couldnt ask for better and new to me boat ran perfect!!

Nice fish, that's what it's all about. I was actually posting the surface temp of 55 in 250 FOW out of olcott but glad it helped u hook that king. We had ice water on the south side after the ne blow. Found the warmer water holding active fish that saved our day. Report is in south shore under olcott 6/9.
