Went west of port a bit and out to 200 fow to set up with friend Joe along. We ran five rods in the beginning looking for something to set up on and the screen was still bleak. A couple of swirls on the surface brought out the 6 th rod to run a flat line off the out rigger with a big yozuri stick 150 feet back. It produced lake trout a couple times. Nothing over 8 lbs. High divers out 50 on 3 brought the same with spin docs and flies.

One king 18 lbs took the diver set 175 on 2.5 with a spin doc and frenchy fly. Nice run out to 612 feet before giving up. A double came with it on a moonshine rv hotlips spoon on the 20 rigger, it being another small Laker.

Was a nice smooth ride, and very comfortable day with a long slow boat ride most of the time. The fish were tightly poded and required a pass through to get more action. Moving on was a new hunt. The lake is still transitioning, with many pockets of color and temp changes in the 100 to 200 foot range out in the 300 to 450 there was little color and still a lot of junk floating everywhere. Be careful on your runs off shore. Some big logs are anyplace out there. Mark
