Big Weenie leader length?

I am beginning to use some Big Weenies behind 8" SD's ie: Filthy Frankie and Seneca G host.  They come with loose glow beads and a 3' leader.  I am looking mostly for Finger Lake lakers.   Where should I string the beads and how long should the leader be from the SD to the Fly.

18 to 24" inches. Some guys run even closer. Experimentation is the name of the game. The closer in the more erratic the action is and vice versa. Good luck.

Beads go on top of the hook then the fly .  I put them on with the skirt wide flareing out over the threads on the fly head.   You can play with bead colors , add rattles or floats.  I have about a 22 to 24" lead from the top of the fly to the top of the loop of the leader .   Thats with a E-chip.

Should put it at the end of the skirt.
