Started at 12:45 after baseball practice. Set up in 100 FOW right out of the chute on a westward troll. Ran spoons mag diehard and purple spoons on 55 and 85 riggers with orange chartreuse sliders. Ran nuclear green 11" e chip in front of a meat rig on 200 diver and white grn dot spinny Ito Irish fly on 230 diver. Tried 175 and 250 coppers with only one steelie so switched out for divers with 42nd spinny fly combo. For into a screamer on the meat right away.

Doubled on some cohos with Charlie catching a really nice one on the free slider

Ended the afternoon 8-16 (had a lot of drops) while having a blast with the family

Thanks for the report, we fish around the golden hill area. So I have a question, what kind of meat do you use? I'd like to get more diverse in the other methods.

Go see Wes at the slippery sinker in olcott. He has 6 packs of brined herring and any tackle u could possibly need.

 

 

Can be used any kind of herrings - fresh or saltwater..??

Will be fishing the w/o of July 20th, are there any fleas in the water yet? Have the Kings completely turned on like they did last year?

 

Taking the wife and daughter on this one, a first for both, hope they experience a screamer and a few in the boat!  Just hoping for decent weather!
