A perk of living where I do is the ability to walk our the door and catch some trout. The fishing is always good after a flooding rain. The first signs of clearing water is the time to throw almost anything at them. These fish were all caught within a less than quarter mile stretch. I lost as many as I landed as the feisty little holdover browns and stocked rainbows put on quite a fight. These salmonids are tough to catch in the normal clear flows of the creek. Small streams and fish like these were the sparks that fueled the fire for many.
